The Argon Saturator Accessory (ASA) is commonly used when running aqueous samples with high dissolved solids or high dissolved salt content. When using the ASA, the nebulizer gas flow is passed through the saturator to increase the water vapor in the gas. This has been found to be beneficial by reducing the build-up of salt and other dissolved solids in the sample introduction system.
