Centaurus gives excellent images at low kV – ideal for those studying fragile and beam sensitive samples. Changing from BSE to CL is achieved by swapping the phosphor coated tip with a mirrored tip. A suitable free port and AUX video input are required on the SEM.
Backscatter (BSE): |
Excellent low kV performance |
High performance parabolic scintillator |
Good atomic number resolution |
High spatial resolution |
Operates at all pressures, HV and LV mode |
Compositional video output |
Dynamic range 300-650nm |
Cathodoluminescence (CL): |
Sensitive CL detector |
High performance parabolic mirror |
Dynamic range 185-850nm (standard), optional wider range (400-1200nm) |
General options:
Motorised insertion with Bellows sealing: The Motorised Centaurus Detector has all the functions of the manual model but with motorised
insertion and welded bellows sealing. It’s main application is for mounting in an inconvenient place, often behind the electron optical column.
It’s use is invaluable in systems used in hazardous environments such as ”hot cells”.
