Powder samples such as Eye shadow can be observed simply by putting specimens on a specimen stub. The specimens can be placed on a carbon tape and after removing excess specimens using a blower then it is observed. Powder specimens tend to be charged up due to crossover of each power specimen having no conductivities. The TM3030 overcomes this problem with "charge-up reduction mode". This mode uses low-vacuum functionality to dissipate the charge. Distribution of different compositional specimens can be observed without metal coating simply changing image signals. And it is possible to observe surface compositional differences and ultra fine structure by reducing accelerating voltage to 5 kV. |
