Prometheus lasers at 532 nm are available at three different power levels (20, 50 and 100 mW) depending on the integrated Mephisto model. The use of a periodically poled crystal for the doubling process enables high conversion efficiency and optimum beam parameters at 532 nm. In addition to the green output, Prometheus provides the depleted output of the Mephisto. For example, Prometheus 100 produces both a 100 mW green output and a 1.5 Watt output at 1064 nm.
Linewidth, frequency tuning, frequency stability and noise of both the green and IR beams are all determined by the Mephisto beam parameters, with corrections determined by the physics of the second harmonic generation process. As an example, the temperature tuning coefficient of the laser output frequency is -6 GHz/K for the 532 nm beam and -3 GHz/K for the 1064 nm beam.
An optional noise eater circuit located in the head eliminates residual pump and relaxation oscillation noise at frequencies below about 1 MHz
