Determination of Pulp Bales Properties The Brimrose Free Space spectrometers are excellent tools to measure the Fluff Absorbance Quality (FAQ) parameter that is a measurement of how much the Fluff can absorb. The Free Space offers great advantages over using a probe from an operational aspect. The use of a probe will make it necessary to drill a hole in the bales. It allows for more scans. Another advantage is that the spectra will be collected over a larger area of the bale, while the probe will only allow spectra to be collected from a small portion of the bale. The Brimrose Free Space spectrometers can eliminate all manual operator labor, reduce possible errors, and provide a reproducible procedure that can be relied upon. |
Determination of Coating Thickness on Different Types of Paper The AOTF technology makes the Brimrose Luminar AOTF-NIR Free Space spectrometer the ideal tool for real-time on-line process control. Past experience has shown that a model created from laboratory data can easily be duplicated in a process setting. There are currently on-line applications by pharmaceutical companies using Brimrose spectrometers that measure thin layers of plastic coating on drug products and the results of this study showed that such a measure can also be made on different types of paper. |
