Extended Shelf-life for 84 µS/cm Conductivity Standard

Low conductivity standards are known to be unstable. They can easily get contaminated with atmospheric carbon dioxide, which affects their conductivity values. For this reason, we have published 1 year shelf-life for our 84 µS/cm conductivity standard while keeping bottles for future testing. Recently, we have concluded our testing and observed that the conductivity value of the above-mentioned conductivity standard remains within our specification (± 2µS/cm at 25⁰C) after storing for 2 years in sealed, unopened condition.

Starting 1 March 2017, the 84 µS/cm conductivity standard (lot S0917 onwards) manufactured in Singapore will have 2 years shelf-life. This will be reflected on the label and certificate of analysis (COA) of the standard. The 84 µS/cm conductivity standard is available in 60-ml (included as sample in EC110 and EC120 handheld conductivity meter kits), 250-ml (one bottle included in 503-S conductivity standards kit) and 500-ml bottles.
