For labs that routinely run high numbers of samples, perhaps hundreds of samples a day, the ISIS-DS dramatically increases the productivity of the 7700 Series ICP-MS, while allowing high matrix samples to be run for extended periods. ISIS-DS uses an additional pump and switching valve to enable discrete sampling or loop injection operation. The sample is loaded into the loop then injected to the carrier stream. While that sample is measured, the loop is washed and the next sample is loaded; sample uptake and rinse overheads are virtually eliminated. Coupled with HMI technology of the 7700x and routine operation using single collision cell mode (He mode), the ISIS-DS delivers unmatched productivity for high sample matrix analysis in high-throughput laboratories

Technology designed, built and supported by Agilent, combines neatly with the ICP-MS mainframe and features fully integrated software.
The ISIS-DS loop is filled via a peristaltic pump - not a diaphragm vacuum pump so sample consumption is low (around 2 mL/min) and there is no vacuum pump and associated pump valve to wear and replace.
Complete compatibility with the industry standard Cetac ASX-520 autosampler which is also fully supported by Agilent.
ISIS-DS can significantly improve sample throughput giving total run times of less than 1.5 min (depending on element list and sample type) which is 2-3 times faster than normal (continuous) sample introduction.
Reduced exposure of the interface to sample matrix gives reduced signal drift and improved short- and long-term precision as well as less frequent cone cleaning.
ISIS-DS can also be combined with Agilent s High Matrix Introduction Accessory technology for rapid analysis of samples containing % levels of Total Dissolved Solids. This provides better DLs and freedom from interferences compared to ICP-OES, all with discrete sampling productivity.
