The toxicity of arsenic (As) depends on its chemical form, with inorganic arsenite (As(III)) and arsenate (As(V)) being the most toxic forms. These inorganic species are common in groundwater supplies, while organic arsenic species such as the non-toxic arsenobetaine (AB) may contribute most of the arsenic in seafood. To quickly and accurately assess arsenic toxicity, analysis of individual arsenic species is necessary, so Agilent has developed the Arsenic Speciation Kit for LC-ICP-MS. The Kit links the Agilent 1200 LC to the Agilent 7700 ICP-MS system, and is also compatible with the 1100 Series LC and 7500 Series ICP-MS instruments. A validated analytical method is included, together with a speciation column for arsenic speciation in either drinking water or urine.
A complete, proven speciation solution with the ability to analyze low concentrations of potentially harmful arsenic species in water samples or urine, as required by current legislation.
A fast and efficient analysis method that separates and quantifies all the common inorganic and organic arsenic species in just 10 minutes.
Excellent peak separation from the optimized chromatographic method, and high matrix tolerance provided by the robust plasma of the 7700.
The standard helium mode of the 7700 reliably removes the ArCl interference on As, caused by the high concentrations of chloride that may be present in urine and some water samples.
For a fully integrated LC-ICP-MS configuration, the As speciation kit should be used with ICP-MS MassHunter softwareenabling full LC control, integrated sequencing, and real-time data analysis with QC
